MARGARET EDMUNDSON MANUEL

Mother Margaret Edmundson Manuel, 83, 216 Wayne Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro, N.C.

Margaret was born in Wayne County Aug. 17, 1931. She was born to the late Mrs. Pearl Johnson Edmundson and Mr. Louis Edmundson.

She received her education in the public schools of Wayne County.

Mrs. Manuel was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Mr. David Manuel Sr.; two sons, Michael Manuel Sr. and Vincent Manuel; and a daughter, Cathy Manuel.

Mother Manuel was a member of and attended Greenleaf Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Goldsboro, N.C.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Greenleaf Christian Church, 2110 N. William St., Goldsboro, N.C. The Rev. Dr. William Barber II will officiate.

Interment will follow in First Congregational Church Cemetery, 4141 Old Mount Olive Highway, Dudley, N.C.

Also, a public viewing will be held Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, from 2 to 7 p.m. in Apostle D.L. McIntyre Memorial Parlor at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.

She is survived by her children, David Manuel Jr. (Carmen) of Tampa, Fla., Eleanor M. Johnson of Goldsboro, Charles Manuel of Goldsboro, Valerie Taylor (Jeffrey) of Greensboro and Nicole Manuel of Greensboro, N.C.; her grandchildren; Davetta Price, Danice Henderson, Valerie Nivens, Jenny Thompson, Tamika Grainger, Stephen Johnson, Michael Manuel Jr., Sherrie Manuel, Charles Manuel Jr., Danielle Shivers, Melanie Taylor, Cameron Taylor, Kevin Newkirk, Jewel Nelson and Vincent Nelson; and a host of other close in-laws, relatives and friends.

Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 12:50 p.m. at the Manuel's residence, 216 Wayne Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.

Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, from 9:30 to 4 p.m.
