HARVEY LESTER HILL

Harvey Lester Hill, 89, passed away Sunday morning at Willow Creek Nursing Home and Rehab surrounded by his loving family.
Harvey was born in Surry County April 10, 1925, to the late John and Callie Watson Hill.
He retired from Cherry Hospital.
Harvey proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
A graveside service of remembrance will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna Kendall Hill; daughter, Linda Hill Barkley and husband, Robert, of Roxboro; daughter-in-law, Mary M. Hill of Seneca, S.C.; stepson, Kenneth Hawthorne of Apex; stepdaughter, Catharine Egeslton of Clayton; stepsons, Keary Hawthorne of Hendersonville and David Hawthorne of Amelia, Ohio; sister, Marie Fuller of Roxboro; brother, Herbert Hill of Timberlake; grandchildren, Beth Hill Hendrickson, Dan Barkley, Jon Hill, Holland Barkley Stinebaugh, Arron Kominski, Jordyn Hawthorne, Jacob Hawthorne, Grace Hawthorne, David Hawthorne, Luke Hawthorne, Kayla Egelston, Hunter Egelston and David Egelston; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Lester Hill; grandson, Benjamin I. Barkley; granddaughter, Jenifer Kominski; and his former wife, Uldine Harris Hill.
