NICK E. KOPAC

Nick Edward Kopac, 82, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Wake Medical Center.

The family will receive friends today, March 4, 2012, from 2 until 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service at the chapel, with the Rev. Dr. John Dutton officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Nick was born in Ambridge, Pa., on May 12, 1929, to the late Nick Kopac and Mary Kraus Kopac. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years and was involved during the Korean and Vietnam wars, where he received the Purple Heart medal. Nick took great pleasure in golfing, spending time with his wife Edna, gardening, fishing and playing his guitar.

Nick is survived by his wife, Edna B. Kopac; his daughters, Anna Hall and husband, Billy, and Kathy Smith and husband, Ray; his son, Michael O'Conner; his eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Kopac of Ambridge, Pa.; his sister, Helen Nestor of Ambridge, Pa.; and special brother-in-law Jack Blackmon and wife, Betty.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a total of nine brothers and sisters.
