Died Sept. 5, 2009

Kermit Melvin Bunn went to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at The Lord's Table, with the Rev. Bill Wilson, the Rev. Charles Kirkland and the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Entombment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the mausoleum of Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors.

Kermit was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be remembered as a fun loving and giving person.

Kermit had a great love for his family, church and garden. Kermit was a master gardener. His hobbies were baseball, bluegrass music, camping and fishing.

Kermit retired from the United States Air Force and the city of Goldsboro.

Kermit is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lorena Bunn of Snow Hill; his daughter, Melvin Cecelia McMillan and husband, Roy, of Anchorage, Alaska; his sons, Ronnie Dean Bunn and wife, Linda, and Herbert Elias Bunn and wife, Alice, all of Goldsboro; six grandchildren, Shauna McMillan of Anchorage, Alaska, John McMillan of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Walter Scott Bunn, Thomas Bunn, Scott Sey-mour and Kevin Seymour, all of Goldsboro; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Sammy Bunn and wife, Connie, of Grifton; his sisters, Mary Brewer of Washington, Reba Moore of Grifton, Retha Moore and husband, Edward, of Kinston; Louvenia Brinkley of Wilmington, Ann Moore and husband, Roger, of Grifton, Zadie Carol Manuel and husband, Ray, of Greenville, Daisy Anderson and husband, John, of Snow Hill and Peggy Dinn and husband, Donald, of Grifton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Andy Jay Bunn of Goldsboro; a brother, Lenzia Harold Bunn of Virginia; and his parents, Kermit Bunn and Bernice Bunn of Snow Hill.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to The Lord's Table, 1215 Parkway Drive, Goldsboro, NC, 27530, or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va., 23058.

A viewing will be Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Lord's Table and the family will greet friends following the service. At other times, the family will be at his home, 2234 Shine Road, Snow Hill.
