'L.G.' GRADY

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Louis "L.G." Gordon Grady was received into Heaven Monday.

A service of remembrance will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Futrelle officiating. Interment will follow at Daly's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

L.G. was born June 30, 1938, to the late Henry Lee and Sadie Phillips Grady.

He attended B.F. Grady School and spent most of his life farming the land he loved. He enjoyed spending time with his second family at the R-Mart in Albertson, his Sudan Motor Patrol friends and especially spending time with his grandsons.

L.G. was a Mason and Shriner and served as past captain of the Sudan Motor Patrol.

L.G. is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lillie Buchan Grady; his son, Cale Lee Grady and wife, Jamie; his two grandsons, Jameson Lee Grady and Caleb Trace Grady; his sister-in-law, Marie Waller and husband, Bobby, of Kinston; brother-in-law, George Buchan and wife, Violet, of Texas; nieces and nephews, Renee Tyson Foss and husband, Kenneth, of Mount Olive, Connie Tyson Collins of Seven Springs, Tabitha Foss Smith and husband, Paul, and children, Andrew and Tanner, of Beulaville and Corey James Collins of Seven Springs; and aunt, Margaret Grady of Goldsboro.

In addition to his parents, L.G. was predeceased by his sister, Annie Mae Grady.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home.
