ERNESTINE P. EDGERTON

GASTONIA -- Ernestine Parrish Edgerton died Friday on her 75th birthday at her residence.
The funeral service was held Sunday at 4 p.m. at East Baptist Church in Gastonia, with the Rev. Tim Parker officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.
She was born to Jacob and Mary Jordan Parrish in Wayne County.
Her special love for her family was constant and intense, ranging from John, her loving husband of 55 years, to 8-month-old great-grandson Beckham Glenn Kirby. Extended family includes a sister, Eloise Grantham; brother, Clark Parrish and his wife, Faye, of Goldsboro; many loving nieces and nephews; and a loving sister-in-law, Lois Sasser and husband, Wayne, of Goldsboro.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Marilyn Parrish Burnette, Mary Lee Parrish and Cleo Parrish; and a precious granddaughter, Jessica Hamilton.
The family received friends from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at East Baptist Church in Gastonia.
