Amy Cox Aycock, 72, passed away Wednesday evening at Duke Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Amy was born in Wayne County to the late John and Ruth Herring Cox.

She was a member of the Providence United Methodist church.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 1, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with pastor Terry Hobbs officiating.

Amy is survived by her husband, Elton F. "Pinky" Aycock Jr.; her son, John Christopher "Chris" Epps and wife, Jessica, of Navarre Beach, Fla.; her daughter, Pamela Lynn Epps of Princeton; her stepsons, Chris Aycock and wife, Meitra, and Mike Aycock and wife, Kerri; her granddaughter, Chelsea Renee Epps; her three stepgrandchildren, Parker, Kalyn and Kenzi Aycock; her brother, Kenneth Cox and wife, Brenda, of Goldsboro; her sister, Dorothy Woods of Iowa; and her sister-in-law, Gerri Cox of Goldsboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James "Jimmy" Edwin Epps, and her brother, Doug Cox.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church at 202 Providence Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
