EDNA MAE ROUSE

LAGRANGE -- Edna Mae Rouse, 99, LaGrange, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011.
Miss Edna was born Jan. 22, 1912, in Lenoir County to the late Hallie R. Rouse and Minnie Williams Rouse.
Miss Edna was a longtime member of LaGrange Christian Church, where she had taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, was elder emeritus, printed the church bulletins and served as secretary-treasurer.
Miss Edna worked with LaGrange Insurance Agency for more than 60 years, and was an avid reader.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday,
May 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. at LaGrange Christian Church, with the Rev. Gerald Stacy and the Rev. Roy Morris officiating. A private family interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
Miss Edna is survived by the Will Hardy Britt family and the Elizabeth Hunt family of LaGrange, the David Ramseur family of Jacksonville, Fla., the Edwin Foscue family of Trenton and the P.M. Hardy family of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends following the service of remembrance, and at other times will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Hardy Britt, 309 N. Caswell St., LaGrange.
