LOSSIE HINTON RAINS

PRINCETON -- Lossie Hinton Rains, 82, 103 S. Church St., Princeton, died Tuesday evening.

She was born Aug. 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Bradley Norwood and Myrtle Mae Holt Hinton. She was the widow of Kenneth Rains.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Rivers, Victor, Bill, Clitus, Roy and Jack, and sister, Wanza.

Mrs. Rains was a member of Princeton United Methodist Church, where she served as past president of Methodist Women, Sunday school teacher and active in the Wednesday Morning Girls Bible study.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Michael Coppock and the Rev. Kelton Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.

She is survived by sons, Eddie Rains and wife, Marsha, of Nashville and Donald Ray Rains of Kenly; daughter, Sandy Spellen and husband, Ted, of Micro; sister, Vitus Carroll of Four Oaks; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Saturday at Casey Funeral Home.
