IRIS ELAINE HOKE

Died Feb. 4, 2011

Mrs. Iris Elaine White Hoke, 84, formerly of Forestdale Drive, Burlington, died at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Goldsboro Friday, Feb. 4, 2011.

A native of New York City, N.Y., she was the wife of the late Kenneth Brown Hoke, and the daughter of Carl White and Winona Elizabeth Bowen White, both deceased.

She was a retired school teacher with the Alamance County Schools, and a member of Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter.

Survivors include a daughter, Caroline Ellis and husband, Michael A. Ellis, of Goldsboro; a son, Stephen P. Hoke and wife, Betty S. Hoke, of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Special thanks are extended to her dear friend, Mary Hamm.

A graveside service will be conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Pamela C. Webb officiating.
