RACHEL HOWELL CRAIN

RUTHERFORDTON -- Rachel Nan Howell Crain, 58, Rutherfordton, died Monday, Feb. 7 at Hospice House.

A native of Goldsboro, she was a daughter of the late Rev. R.D. and Atha Lee Gardner Howell.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Gilkey Church of God.

Nan was not only a great wife, but a loving mother, grandmaw and prayer warrior.

On this day a great saint of God has come home.

Nan is survived by her husband of 42 years, James Ronald Crain; her four children, Ronnie Crain Jr., Nannette Flack, Samantha Scoggin and Traci Epley; along with seven precious grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Ray Howell of Hickory.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday. Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. at Gilkey Church of God, with the Rev. Herman Toney and the Rev. Kenneth Lytle officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Crowe's Mortuary.
