VIRGLE ONEAL STAPP

Virgle Oneal Stapp, 88, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Virgle was born in Three Rivers, Texas, Aug. 20, 1922, to the late Virgle Stapp and Ada Stapp.
He retired from the United States Air Force with 24 years of service. Virgle served his country during World War II and the Korean War.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at 3 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park, with pastor Wayne Brown officiating.
Virgle is survived by his wife, Wilma N. Stapp; his children, Ronald Gene Stapp and wife, Vicki, of Ocala, Fla., Terry Oneal Stapp of California and Linda Lee Phoenix of Wyoming; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Omer Stapp and Roland Stapp, and his sister, Darnell Stapp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dusty Stapp, and his great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
The family will receive friends Saturday following the service at the cemetery.
