Donald Erwin Pennington, 49, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Oak Forest Church of Christ, with Lennie Reagan and Robert Goff officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Donald was born in Albany, Ga. on Feb. 1, 1961, to Vivian Combs Pennington of Goldsboro and the late Norman Pennington. Donald worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a member of Oak Forest Church of Christ.
In addition to his mother, Donald is survived by his wife, Pam Stafford Pennington; his sons, Tyler Mooring and wife, Ashley, Alan Pennington and Matthew Pennington; his stepdaughter, Nicole Grimes; his brothers, Ronald Pennington of Arlington, Tenn., who was his twin brother, Michael Pennington of Goldsboro and William Pennington of Goldsboro; his sister, Michele Pennington of Pine Level; his grandchildren, Jernie Mooring and Jackson Mooring; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his devoted K-9 friend, his poodle, "Little Bit."
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Pennies from Angels in the care of Helen Harwood, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother.
