FREMONT -- Jacob Allen Floars, 17, a senior at Charles B. Aycock High School, died Sunday due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Jacob was born in Wilson County April 25, 1993.
He is survived by his father, Millard Allen Floars of Eureka; his mother, Catherine Floars of Fremont; a sister, Jessica Rose Floars of Eureka; his paternal grandmother, Marjorie Speight of Eureka; maternal grandmother, Mary "Betsy" Eatmon and husband, James T., of Sims; his maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Campbell of Fremont; his uncles and aunts, Russell Ray Floars Jr. and wife, Roxie, Scott Floars and wife, Tracy, and Roger Batts and wife, Susan; and six cousins.
Jacob was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Russell Ray Floars, and maternal grandfather, Thomas Ray Batts.
The family will receive friends Wednesday beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St. in Fremont.
