Warren Harding Kearney, 89, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Warren was born in Greene County June 8, 1921, to the late John Thomas Kearney and Eunice Elizabeth Grimes Kearney.

Warren worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Goldsboro Housing Authority for many years.

He was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church.

Warren served his country in the United States Army during World War II, and was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2615.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rufus Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Warren is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marie Kearney; his sons, John Harding Kearney of Goldsboro, Keith Edward Kearney of Morehead City and Jerry Glenn Kearney of Swansboro; his daughters, Evelyn Carol Parnell of Wilson and Connie Elaine Duncan of Goldsboro; his sisters, Mavis Rudine Dockery of Florida and Mary Elizabeth Carraway of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of John Kearney, 909 Community Drive, Goldsboro.
