Mr. Ellis McDuffie was born May 2, 1939, to the late Lonnie and Sallie McDuffie. He was called home Monday, Oct. 4, 2010.
Ellis was preceded in death by his mother; father; son, Alex; three sisters, Minnie, Annie and Iva; and his brother, Richard.
A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at New Stoney Hill United Holy Church, with bishop Howard McNair officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mill Cemetery.
A viewing will be held Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C.
He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Elliott McDuffie of Goldsboro; a brother, Lonnie McDuffie Jr. of Goldsboro; three sisters, Leola (Eddie) Gordon and Ruth Russell both of Goldsboro, N.C., and Alzora Young of Dudley; and a host of other family and friends.
They will meet Saturday at noon at 111 Hines St. in preparation for the procession to the church.
