OCALA, Fla. -- Elizabeth "Betty" Nye was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Savannah, Ga., and died Sept. 11, 2010, in Ocala, Fla.
Betty was a Girl Scout troop leader, and was involved in 4-H, Audubon Society and Homemaker's Club.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Becky Nye of Goldsboro, N.C., Tracy (Steve Shoner) Nye of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Susan Nye of Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, Lizzy Shoner and Derek Shoner; and sister, Ruth Williams of Orange Lake, Fla.
At her request, no formal service will be held.
