JOSEPH S. 'SHORTY' GRANT

Joseph S. "Shorty" Grant, 90, died Monday evening at Mount Olive Care and Rehab.
He was born in Wayne County to the late George W. and Mollie Price Grant.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Walker Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sherman Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery.
Mr. Grant is survived by three sisters, Ora Holmes of Goldsboro, Georgia Gray Price of Seven Springs and Mary "Rose" Daly of Seven Springs, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will be receiving friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Walker Memorial Church, and at other times will be at the home of John and Rose Daly, 322 River Road, Seven Springs, N.C., 28578.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother and aunt, Nannie Grant, and three brothers, Hyman Grant, Harold Grant and George "Sparky" Grant.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Walker Memorial United Methodist Church, c/o Jean Daly, 2290 N.C. 111 south, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
