Lenna "Brooke" Shrewsbury McCary, 90, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Brooke was born in Raleigh County, W.Va., Feb. 12, 1920, to the late John Shrewsbury and Lillie Wood Shrewsbury.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Harper officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service. The interment will be Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Brooke is survived by her husband, Clarence M. McCary of the home; her son, Mark McCary and wife, Donna, of Dudley; her daughters, Marion Stewart of Cary and Margaret McCary of Pensacola, Fla.; her grandchildren, Benjamin McCary and wife, Elizabeth, of Goldsboro and Stacie McCary of Dudley; her sister, Lora Oxley of Harrisonburg, Va.; and her brother, Charles Shrewsbury of Cleveland, Ohio.
