LARRY DONNELL MATHIS JR.

Larry Donnell Mathis, Jr., 34, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Donnell," 907 B. Audubon Ave., Goldsboro, departed this life Jan. 1, 2010.

Donnell was born in Wayne County to Larry Donnell Mathis, Sr. and Dollice Sims Mathis. He was preceded in death by his sister, Corine L. Mathis.

He attended the Wayne County Public Schools.

While advancing his education level, he started working at the age of 17.

After graduating in 1994 from Southern Wayne High School, he continued to work at various jobs.

Donnell worked at Greenwood Middle School as a custodian for three years.

Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Christ Centered Church, 1303 Florida St., with apostle Dennis E. Jacobs will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Mathis Family Cemetery, Warsaw. A wake will be held on Saturday at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries and Florist, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the family present to receive other family members and friends.

Donnell leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Annette Hobbs Mathis; mother and father, Dollice S. Mathis and Larry Donnell Mathis Sr.; five children, Marquell L. McLamb, Markese T. McLamb, Kyna Mathis, Alaysia Young and Jaelyn S. Mathis; three sisters, Serena M. Richards and husband, Christopher of Dudley, Rosalyn M. Benton and husband, Roger and Janet Sims; one brother, Joseph Sims; grandmother, Eula Johnson; great grandmother, Elizabeth Johnson; five nephews, Tr'erk, Christopher, Tyquan Sim, Lorenzo Mathis, Dereronte Holloman; one niece, Myisha Holloman; step children, August Hobbs, Auston Hobbs and Artese Best; one grandchild, Zion Hobbs; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends.

The family will assemble at 907 B. S. Audubon Ave., in preparation for the funeral procession.
