Elizabeth "Beth" Smith Lamb, 51, passed away Monday morning at her home surrounded by her family, after a courageous six-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Beth devoted her life to the care of her family and was an inspiration to those who knew her.

Beth was born in Wayne County on Feb. 15, 1958, to Lehman Smith and Polly Davis Smith of Goldsboro.

She was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Beth was active with the Relay for Life for Wayne County and served many years as a coach for the Rosewood's Babe Ruth girls softball teams.

In addition to her parents, Beth is survived by her husband, Tim Lamb; her daughters, Meghan Fields of Goldsboro, Jessy Martinez and husband, Yaniel, of Goldsboro and Chloee Lamb of the home; her brothers, Greg Smith and wife, Pat, of Goldsboro, Charles Smith and wife, Karla, of Goldsboro and Jeff Smith of Goldsboro; her grandson whom she adored, Sebastian Martinez; seven nieces and nephews; and her special aunts, Sandra Harkey of Charlotte, LaNell Evans of Goldsboro and Debbie Creech of Greenville.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, 867 Hwy. 581 south, Goldsboro, NC, 27530.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 in the fellowship hall of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and other times at her home, 306 Friendswood Drive, Goldsboro.
