Died July 4, 2009

Terry Holland, 50, 120 Dollard Town Road, departed this earthly sojourn Saturday as a result of a fireworks explosion on Ocracoke Island.

His life and service to his Lord, family and his church will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. at the Lord's Table church, with pastor Bill Wilson officiating. His mortal remains will be laid to rest in Forte Cemetery in Eureka.

A beautiful life and legacy will forever be treasured by his mother, Ruth Holland Williams of Goldsboro; his children, Terry Ezekiel Reid of Seven Springs, Ryan Holland of Maryland and Rheanna Autumn Reid of Seven Springs; his siblings Deloris (John) Thornton of New York, Evelyn (Clarence) Hairston, Charlene (Shelton) Wellington of Goldsboro, Gladys Johnson of Goldsboro, Edwin (Lonice) Holland Sr. and James Calvin Johnson of Goldsboro; a special sister-in-law, Janice Holland; godparents, Joe and Mabelle Sampson of Pikeville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in the silent chambers of death by his stepfather, Willie M. Williams, and siblings Justine, Annette and Donald.

Mr. Holland's remains will lie in state at the church Friday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. Family and friends are welcomed to pay respects and sign the condolence book during this time. There will be no public viewing.

The family will receive friends at his mother's residence, 1402-A Clingman St., where they will also assemble in preparation for funeral cortege.
