NORMA M. WILKERSON

Norma McCullen Best Wilkerson, 76, died Tuesday at New Hanover Regional Med-ical Center in Wilmington.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brownings United Methodist Church in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Leland Heath Jr. and the Rev. David Pate officiating.

Norma was born to Clayton and Lucille Best McCullen of Mount Olive Aug. 26, 1932.

She was a graduate of Mount Olive High School and she attended Louisburg College. She was a retired civil service employee.

She was an active member of Brownings United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Wayne Shrinettes.

Her death resulted from a sepsis infection.

Norma was blessed with a big family who will miss "Grandma" tremendously.

She is survived by two daughters, Nyra Best Evans and Claudia Gaye Best of Goldsboro; her son, Everette Clayton "Clay" Best of Satellite Beach, Fla.; three stepsons and their spouses, Michael and Darlene Vail Wilkerson of Pikeville, Donnie and Melinda Bradshaw Wilkerson of Fremont and David and Amy Bradshaw Wilkerson of LaGrange; and her brother, Carroll McCullen of Goldsboro. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Tonya Best Lee of Dunn, Tabitha Lee Best of Palm Bay, Fla., Chad and Rhonda Evans of Dunn, James "Jamie" Louis Evans of Goldsboro, Adam and English Worley Arnold of Goldsboro, Braxton and Cecilia Worley Bell of Warsaw, Kerry and Julie Worley Baker of Middlesex, Christopher and Heather Wilkerson of Bear Grass, David and Tabitha Wilkerson Pate of Fremont, Meredith Ambour Wilkerson of Goldsboro and Joshua and Jessica Wilkerson; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Lucille Best McCullen; her late husband, Billy R. Wilkerson of Goldsboro; and a brother, Gene Everette McCullen.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
