DOROTHY HILL ROLLINS

Dorothy Hill Rollins, completed her journey home Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 to the welcoming words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Dorothy was born Aug. 26, 1933, in Wayne County to the late George and Inez Johnson Hill.

She was a valued employee of Dewey Brothers for 43 years.

Her life was filled with humility, kindness and a love for others that she displayed with her many acts of kindness. Dorothy dedicated her life to serving her family unselfishly and to serving her Lord. She was a long-time member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro where she often assisted the bereavement committee in serving meals. Dorothy was always on call to give a helping hand. She enjoyed life especially her life with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 3 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church followed by a service to celebrate Dorothy’s life at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Bill Rose and Bishop Jim Whitfield officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Dr. Daniel Rollins and wife, Tanya, of Pikeville; grandchildren, Alex Rollins and Nathan Rollins; sisters, Evelyn Westbrook and Jackie Holloman, both of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David R. Hill, Alton Hill and George F. Hill.
