Danny Ray Martin, 62, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, March 1, at Wayne UNC Hospital.
Danny was born in Wayne County July 16, 1954, to the late Hubert and Nina Hughes Martin.
He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, and retired as a master sergeant after 23 years of service. Danny’s valor and skill were recognized with numerous decorations.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs, with the Rev. Barry House officiating.
The family received friends immediately after the service at the graveside.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Stefanie Smart and husband, Tim, of Easley, S.C.; son, Phillip Martin and wife, Christine, of Kannapolis; sister, Judy Carmack of Goldsboro; six grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Martin, and brothers, Hubert Alton Martin and Robert Martin.
