GLENNIE SMITH JENKINS

Glennie Smith Jenkins, 82, LaGrange, was called home Sunday, March 5, 2017, to the loving arms of Jesus Christ her Lord.
Glennie was born in Wayne County Sept. 8, 1934, to the late Johnnie H. Smith and Mina Head Smith.
She enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.
Glennie had served our community for many years as a waitress.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
A private graveside service for the family will be held Thursday in Newsome Family Cemetery.
Glennie is survived by her sons, Greg Bonnichsen and wife, Trudi, of Oregon and John Jenkins and wife, Laurie, of Florida; sisters, Judy Parrott of LaGrange, Vickie Jordan and husband, J.R., of Goldsboro and Linda Sutton of LaGrange; brothers, A.P. Smith of LaGrange and John Wayne Smith and wife, Katherine, of Kinston; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Jenkins; grandson, Christopher Jenkins; and sister, Joan Keel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Alzheimer's Inc., 1305 Navaho Drive, Suite 101, Raleigh, N.C., 27609.
