Charles Ray Smith, son of the late Ivey Lee Smith and Della Williams Smith, was born July 13, 1967, in Wilson County.
He departed this life Aug. 7, 2016, at his home.
He was a dedicated employee of Air Gas for 22 years.
He leaves to cherish his memories three brothers, Johnny Smith (Shelia), Billy Smith (Amanda) of Fremont and Curtis Williams of Snow Hill; four sisters, Coleen Dale (Andrew) of Fremont, Helen Gillespie of Pikeville, Linda Ruffin (Robert) of Fayetteville and Doris Smith of Dudley; two uncles, Johnny Williams (Angie) of Wilson and Lovelace Williams (Frances) of Fremont; five aunts, Dorothy Barnes of Capital Heights Md., Sarah Williams of Pikeville, Barbara Henderson, Annie Joyce Sutton and Corine Best of Goldsboro; a devoted niece, Tiffany Smith of Pikeville; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at noon in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Golden Gate Cemetery in Pikeville.
Viewing will be held prior to the service from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Professional services have been entrusted in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
