JERRY E. GARDNER

Aug. 10, 1947-April 8, 2016

Jerry Everett Gardner, 68, Mount Olive resident, passed away early Friday morning, April 8, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

Jerry, born in Craven County, was reared in Laurinburg, and in recent years, he had been a Mount Olive resident.

Employed as a commercial loan officer with Southern Bank and Trust Company in its Mount Olive branches, he had served in the United States Army, and was involved in several area civic organizations, as well as the Mount Olive Chamber of Commerce.

Services to remember Jerry will be held Monday, April 11, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, officiated by Dr. Dennis Atwood, and followed by visitation. He will be interred in Laurinburg at Hillside Memorial Cemetery, following a graveside service to be held Tuesday, April 12, at 3:30 p.m.

Friends and relatives are also being received at Jerry's residence.

He is survived by his mother, Lillian Everett Gardner of Laurinburg; two sisters, Charlotte Pearson of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Jeanne Fedak of Laurinburg; a niece, Julee Marsh and her family; a nephew, Michael E. Fedak II and his family; and three great-nieces.

His father, J.P. Gardner, preceded his son in death.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society for pancreatic cancer research at American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Okla. City, Okla., 73123, denoting pancreatic cancer research in the memo.
