Coach Ronald "Ron" L. Smith, 62, of 220 E. Pollock St., passed on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital, Kinston, N.C.
The life of Coach Ron was remembered Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. at The Place of Refuge Ministries, 616 S. Slocumb St., with Pastor Gregory Jones Sr. and Pastor Terry Jones officiating.
There was a viewing held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at The Place Of Refuge Ministries from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1950, in Trenton, N.J.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Smith of the home and his children.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Place of Refuge Youth Ministry.
