MOUNT OLIVE -- Leroy Cartlon, 85, of 667 Red Hill Road, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Payne Temple AME Zion Church, with the Rev. James Jackson officiating. Entombment will follow at Devotional Gardens.
Born in Duplin County, he is the son of the late Aaron and Elizabeth Phillips Carlton.
He is survived by two sons, Bobby Ray Carlton of Mount Olive and Robert Faison of New Castle, Del.; two daughters, Annie Carol Simmons and Joyce Faye Darden of Mount Olive; one brother, William Carlton of Magnolia; one sister, Virginia C. Williams of Deep Bottom; and 14 grandchildren.
Viewing will be Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m. to receive friends, and at other times at 707 E. James St., Mount Olive.
Garris Funeral Home is serving the family.
