Estaline Tew Bass, 92, died Saturday, July 6, 2013.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Newton Grove, with the Rev. Carol Dean and Dr. Dennis Sheppard officiating. Interment will take place at the church.
Ms. Bass was a teacher in the Hobbton School District for 37 years. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Westbrooke Grange, Newton Grove Eastern Star and Delta Kappa Gamma.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Lee (Wilson) and Debra Westbrook (Tim), all of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Emily and Loren Thornton and Jenny and Porter Jones; great-grandchild, Elizabeth Aldon Thornton; and sisters, Reavis Tew of Autryville and Better Porter of Roseboro.
She was preceded in death by husband, Etheridge Bass; parents, Dallas and Bettie Tew; and brothers, Carlton and Charles Tew.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 8, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m.
