Elvis Wayne Summerlin, 53, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at home.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. A private graveside will be held.
Mr. Summerlin was born in Norfolk, Va., on April 18, 1959. He was employed with Progress Energy and attended United In Christ Church in Goldsboro.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Summerlin; his mother, Gladys Summerlin of Fremont; one son, Chris Summerlin and wife, Devon, of Goldsboro; one daughter, Jessica Summerlin of Goldsboro; one stepson, John Durham of Raleigh and one sister, Kathy Summerlin of Fremont.
Mr. Summerlin was preceded in death by his father, Elvis Summerlin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The V Foundation for cancer research or to Coastal Conservation Association.
