CHARLOTTE ODOM BECKWORTH

Charlotte Odom Beckworth, 91, passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Goldsboro Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Forsythe officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Charlotte was born in Wayne County to the late Joseph Bryant Odom and Viola Jernigan Odom. She was the widow of the late Jacob E Beckworth Sr. Charlotte was a member of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro. She worked at W.T. Grant Company and retired from O'Berry Center.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy L. Mercer and his wife, Bobbie, of Oklahoma; daughter, Ann Rangel of Texas, and daughter, Patti B. Wiggs of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Morgan Ann Wiggs, Ethan Cooper Wiggs, Crystal B. Overby, Madison Overby, and Dawson Overby of Goldsboro. She is also survived by many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Oklahoma and Texas.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jacob E. Beckworth Sr.; sons, Jacob E. Beckworth Jr. and David L. Beckworth; sister, Gaynell Grantham; and brother, David Odom.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 2127 Hwy. 70 West, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will greet friends Friday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
