MOUNT OLIVE -- Martha Williams Worrell, 68, passed into the welcoming arms of her Lord and savior early Thursday morning, April 5, while at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A Duplin County native, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Roland and Mabel Gainus Williams.

She was a member of Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was a member of the sanctuary choir.

She was retired from Friendly Mart Inc., where she had been a sales associate, store manager and administrative assistant in its corporate office.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Henry J. Worrell of the home; three children and their spouses, Danny J. and Julie Worrell and Teresa Gay W. and Neil Swinson all of Mount Olive and Peggy DeLynn W. and Greg Otellio of Dudley; nine grandchildren, Brooke Worrell, Beau Worrell, Jonathan Smith and wife, Kristen, Greg Swinson, Heather Otellio, Samantha Otellio, Joseph Otellio, Jacquelyn Otellio, and Anthony Otellio; four great-grandchildren, Madison Hudson, Hannah Spells, Chloe Otellio and Jacob Otellio; two brothers, Jack Williams and special friend, Bobbie Hamilton, and Jimmy Williams and wife, Betty Williams, all of Mount Olive; two sisters, Shelby Walker of Calypso and Eunice Hughes of Goldsboro; her in-laws, Buddy and Shirley Worrell of Seven Springs; and special friends, Ernie Knowles of Warsaw and Maxie Garner of Arkansas.

Along with her parents, Martha was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Williams, and two of her best friends, Margie Knowles and Wilber Garner.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home Saturday, April 7, from 3 to 4 p.m., at which time services will begin in the chapel. Officiating will be pastors Doug Bartlett and Jeff Dail. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

Friends and family are being received at the residence, 1993 N.C. 55 East, Mount Olive.
