KINSTON -- Annie Thompson Cox, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012.

Mrs. Cox was born in Lenoir County Oct. 1, 1929, to the late Dallas and Polly Thompson.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Felix Loffie Cox.

Mrs. Cox was a loving and caring person, who loved being around her family and friends and was always ready to help others in need; she was loved by all and will be missed by many.

She is survived by four daughters, Peggy Ann Rafuse, Polly Ann Stirgill and husband, Scott, of Tazwell, Tenn., Rozita Faye Cox of Pikeville and Judy Biggs of LaGrange; a son, Gregory Rafuse and wife, Linda, of Beulaville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Walston of Goldsboro and Christine Thompson of Maryville, Tenn.; and two brothers, Jessie Thompson of Greenville and Lynwood Thompson of Kinston.

Funeral services will take place Friday, April 6, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Howard-Carter Funeral Home.

Visitation to follow the service.

Burial will be at Westview Cemetery Saturday, April 7, 2011, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Arrangements are by Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
