Mrs. Brenda Jean Wright, 63, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Billie Jean," 812 Crawford St., Goldsboro, departed her earthly life peacefully Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Longleaf Neuro Medical Center in Wilson.

"Billie Jean" was born in Cabarrus County Aug. 11, 1948, to the late Alma Hall Grant and Robert Grant.

She was educated in the public schools of Cabarrus County.

Later on in life "Billie Jean" relocated to Goldsboro, where she joined New Stony Hill United Holy Church at an early age.

Brenda was preceded in death by Ruby Grant Palmer and Dorothea Grant.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at New Stony Hill United Holy Church, 1003 Poplar St. Ext., Goldsboro, with elder H.E. McNair officiating.

Also, a public viewing will be held Thursday, April 5, 2012, at New Stony Hill United Holy Church, 1003 Poplar St. Ext., Goldsboro, from 10 to 10:50 a.m., with the family present to receive friends and other family members.

Mrs. Wright leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories her children, Shasta Wright and George Wright Jr.; her nine siblings, Robert Grant Jr. of Greenville, Renee Grant-Kane of Rumford, R.I., Keith Grant, Larry Grant, Antoinette Grant and Michelle Grant of Providence, R.I., Steven Grant of Texas, Denise Lewis of Minneapolis, Minn., and Sheresa Grant of Puerto; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Peace has finally come at the end of a long battle with illness. Mother will be missed. Rest in peace.

The family will assemble at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, one hour prior to the funeral at 9 a.m., in preparation for the funeral procession.
