MANNING, S.C. -- Jeannie Virginia Ashe Martin, 65, 127 Ridge Lake Drive, Manning, S.C., died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Hospice of Charleston.
She was born Nov. 3, 1946, in Greenville, S.C., daughter of the late Miriam Johnston and Vernon W. Ashe Sr.
Jeannie was a mathematics educator, and was a member of the South Carolina Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the South Carolina Leaders of Mathematics Education.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Spartanburg.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, George Caughman Martin; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason H. and Elizabeth Pendarvis Martin of Summerville and Brian D. and Jennifer Fronzcek Martin of Columbia, S.C.; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Martin, Ashlyn Martin, Anna Martin, Charlotte Martin and Cecilia Martin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Spartanburg, by the Rev. Michael Shackelford. Interment will be in the church columbarium.
The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service at 4:30 p.m.
