SEVEN SPRINGS -- Lois Lynch Shivar, 94, of Seven Springs, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at the Mayview Convalescent Center, Raleigh.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, LaGrange, with Rev. Phyllis Vail officiating.
Mrs. Shivar was born April 26, 1917, in Wayne County to the late Luther Augustus Lynch and Viola Newsome Lynch. She was wife of the late Horace Shivar. Lois graduated from East Carolina Teachers College and taught school at Seven Springs from 1946 until her retirement. She was an active member of Seven Springs United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Shivar is survived by her children, Ken Shivar and wife, Ann, of Raleigh, Linda Hughs of Emerald Isle; three grandchildren, Jocelyn Dunn, Tanya Mascari and husband, John, Audrey Yoest; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Arabella and Gabriella. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lynch and Pat Lynch.
