FAISON -- Ruth Genora Mason Ellis, 86, 1366 N.N. Ellis Road, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 10, at Mount Olive Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, officiated by the Rev. Jabe Largen, followed by visitation.
At other times, friends and family are welcome at the residence.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ellis was a member of Faison United Methodist Church, and a former member of Mount Olive Business and Professional Women's Club.
She was a retired bookkeeper, having been employed by Ellis Motor Sales in Mount Olive, and in later years at Nelson Smith's Auto Parts and Service also in Mount Olive.
She was the daughter of the late J. R. and Carrie Mason and the widow of Linwood Earl "Kink" Ellis, and was preceded in death by her siblings.
She is survived by four nephews, J. R. Vann of Pasadena, Md., Joseph Vann of Hagerstown, Md., and Edward A. "Doc" Tyndall and Randy Tyndall both of Vancleave, Miss.
In addition, she was beloved by her late husband's nieces and nephews, especially by niece and caregiver, Jean Ellis Bryson of Faison.
Flowers are welcome; however, memorials may be made to Faison United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 417 Faison, N.C. 28341.
