It was God's will that Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, the angels came and took Robert to his heavenly home of eternal life.

Robert Lee Jones, 72, was born in Wayne County June 30, 1939, to the late Andrew and Ethel Mae Jones.

He attended Dillard High School.

He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Rosa Lee Jones; his parents; and daughter, Mercedine White.

He leaves to carry on his memory his children, Tamika (Tim) Jones, Johnny (Rozita) White, Shareise (Sylvin) White, Catherine Phillips, Ricky (Marlene) White, Janis (Kenny) White-Tullis, Willie (Terry) White, Belinda (Michael) White-Robinson, Gracie (Juan) White-Rivera, Patricia White and Nancy (George) White-Felder; his brothers, Roger (Jessie) Jones, Andrew (Carolyn) Jones, Mack (Benita) Jones and Winston (Margie) Jones; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at 10 a.m. at E. M. Matthews Funeral Home, 401 N. William St., Goldsboro.

A celebration of life will be held immediately following the viewing at 11 a.m. in the E.M. Matthews Life Celebration Chapel, 401 N. William St.

Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Jones' delicate temple, along with his adored family, will be escorted to Old Mill Cemetery for interment rites.

Mr. Jones' earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Jones and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
