WILSON -- Mrs. Mae "Bert" Edwards Woodard, 74, 4562 Yank Road, Wilson, departed this life Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Wilson Medical Center.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Tabernacle of Prayer for all People, 1601 Lane Street Ext., with bishop Willie Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext.

A public viewing will take place Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, from 3 to 9:30 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel.

Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her loving husband, Donald Lee Woodard Sr. of the home; her children, Bertha "Tuddie" Davis of Wilson, Jonathan Davis Jr. (Felecia) of Wilson, Judith (Glynn) Crenshaw of Hephzibah, Ga., Thomas Woodard of Wilson, Timothy Woodard of Goldsboro, Ronald Woodard (Carlotta), deployed to Afghanistan, Brenda Woodard (George) and Mary Newman of Wilson; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Barnes Woodard; two sisters, Lossie Mae (James) Edwards of Dudley and Estella Shepherd of Goldsboro; three brothers-in-law, Andrew Woodard (Essie Mae) of Farmville, Roosevelt Woodard (Susie) of Baltimore, Md., and Broadie Williams (Minnie); six sisters-in-law, Arlene Woodard, Mary Coley (Roney) and Lonia Anderson all of Wilson, Elizabeth Howard (Bobby) of Fremont, Doris Davis (Joe) of Eureka and Marjorie Horne of Stantonsburg; three grandchildren, Veleka Latisha Davis and Kayla Cymone Batts both of Wilson and Kishana Hall of Birmingham, Ala., in addition to 11 other grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two aunts, Ada Bell Mitchell and Ethelene Rodgers both of Wilson; two special cousins, Arthur Bray Hall (Joyce) of Stantonsburg and Ernestine Edwards of Landover, Md.; a longtime friend, Edna Armstrong Edwards; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 4562 Yank Road, Wilson, where it will also assemble one hour prior to the service in preparation for the funeral procession.

Caring and professional services have been entrusted to Hamilton Funeral Chapel of Wilson, 726 Tarboro Street SW, Wilson.
