Charles Edward Bailey, 61, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at his home.
Charles was born in Wayne County Nov. 11, 1950, to Rhoda Iona Parnell Bailey of Pikeville and the late Clifton Bailey.
He was a retired health care technician at Cherry Hospital for more than 20 years.
Charles was a loving man with kindness of the heart. He loved his family, especially his wife, loved his animals, watching wrestling and the outdoors. Charles liked working on cars and riding his lawnmower.
He had a heart of gold, and enjoyed helping anyone in need, and was a blessing to a lot of people, and will surely be missed.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Cotton officiating.
Charles is survived by his wife, Teresa Atkinson Bailey; his sisters, Paulette Kornegay and husband, Garry, of Seven Springs, Edith Ross and husband, Alfred, of Pikeville and Peggy Langston and husband, Sammy, of Pikeville; and his brother, Jesse Bailey and wife, Barbara, of Goldsboro.
He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
