CASSANDRA ENESBETT FARMER

Cassandra Enesbett Farmer, 71, was born Feb. 14, 1940, in West Virginia to the late Burnell and Reginald Conliffe. She departed this life Thursday evening, Dec. 22, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
Cassandra was joined in holy matrimony to Luther James Farmer, also of West Virginia. Immediately after marriage, they relocated to New York City, where they made a career, raised a family and remained there for 50 years.
Four years ago, they relocated to Goldsboro to enjoy retirement.
Cassandra was member of Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her church and her church family, and enjoyed being a part of the culinary staff, as well as a member of the pastors Aid committee.
During her stay on earth, she touched the lives of many people, changing their lives in ways they will never forget.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Maple Burnell and Reginale Conliffe; four brothers, Denolly, Townsend, Reginald and Thomas Conliffe; and a sister, Arvonia Diggs.
Cassandra is survived by a loving husband, Luther James Farmer of the home; three daughters, Barbara Farmer of Jersey City, N.J., Sondra Farmer of Jamaica, N.Y., and Kimberly Calhoun of Clarksville, Tenn.; a foster son, Waddell Andre Dailey with the United States Army stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash.; two granddaughters, Samantha Pinckney of New York and TiaJa'Von Calhoun of Clarksville, Tenn. four grandsons, Soloman Breland Jr. and Sedric Breland both of Jamaica, N.Y., and Jacquice Jr. and Xavier Farmer-Calhoun of Clarksville, Tenn.; two great-grandsons, Mekhi Pinckney and Michael Tyler Pinckney of Jamaica, N.Y.; three sisters, Eldorado Johnson of Flint, Mich., Laugrita Tucker of Detroit, Mich., and Lavern Logan of Scarboro, W. Va.; three brothers, Willima and Ron Conliffe of Flint, Mich., and John Conliffe of Detroit, Mich.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court in Goldsboro.
A service of remembrance will immediately follow the viewing at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Farmer's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Farmer and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
