Marquell Deshaun Hocutt, 34, 1204 E. Walnut St., was born in Goldsboro April 22, 1977, to Annie Mae Hocutt Whitfield and Willie Ray Joyner.
He departed this life Dec. 21, 2011.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Greater St. John Free Will Baptist Church in Dudley, with Dr. William Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Cemetery.
He is survived by a daughter, Malikah A. Hocutt of Gastonia; his mother and stepfather, Annie Mae and Kenneth Whitfield of Goldsboro; his father and stepmother, Willie Ray and Marsha Joyner of Dudley; six sisters, Shelia Hocutt of Vero Beach, Fla., Gladys Hocutt of Goldsboro, Annie Dolline Bell of Princeton, Tanika Holloway of Goldsboro, Sennoca King of Goldsboro and Sonjia King of Cary; two brothers, Patrick L. Hocutt and Marcus Graham of Goldsboro; grandfather, Lam Henry Joyner of Mount Olive; stepgrandmother, Retha Mae Whitfield of Seven Springs; and a special friend, Lateria Thomas of Gastonia.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. at Gospel Tabernacle, 1015 N. James St. in Goldsboro.
