FREMONT -- Michael James Yelverton, 31, Fremont, died Monday.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Joyners Funeral Home. The Rev. Rani Woodrow will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
The family will receive friends Friday evening immediately following the service at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at 7056 Penwright Road, Fremont.
Mr. Yelverton is survived by his parents, James W. and Kathie Yelverton of Fremont; a sister, Alarie Grey Yelverton of Fremont; an aunt, Melissa Haddock of Rocky Mount; five uncles, Don Griffin and Tom Daughtery both of Rocky Mount, Barnes Yelverton of Harrisonburg, Va., Harold Yelverton and wife, Janie, of Fremont, and Fred Yelverton and wife, Kimberly, of Cary; special friends, Carolyn Howell of Pikeville and Brian Simmons of Saratoga; and a number of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, the Rev. Paul W. and Polly Evans, and paternal grandparents, Elmer and Iris Yelverton.
