ANTHONY BALDWIN

Anthony Baldwin was born Nov. 16, 1960, to the late Lois and Joseph Baldwin in Wayne County. He departed this earthly life Nov. 19, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He attended Wayne County Schools, and graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1979. He then earned his degree in criminal justice, and was employed with the Goldsboro Police Department as an investigator until he medically retired in 1990 due to his failing health.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Joseph Baldwin; a brother, Gary Baldwin; and a mother-in-law, Ina McClarin.

He leaves to cherish his memories a dedicated and devoted wife, Velma Baldwin of the home; a daughter, Jennifer Braswell of Goldsboro; a grandson, Adrian DeAnthony Braswell of Goldsboro; two sisters, Gail Collins and Regina (Alonza) Holloway both of Goldsboro; five brothers, Donald Baldwin, Emerson (Diane) Baldwin of Maryland, Morris (Inez) Baldwin, Eric Baldwin and David Best; a foster brother, Wilton Raynor; two special nieces, Shamicula (Lamont) Thompson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Kalia Taylor of Fayetteville; two special great-nephews, Abel and Titus Thompson of Fort Lauderdale; three brothers-in-law, Edward (Arlene) Taylor, James Taylor and Jacob (Beatrice) Taylor; two sisters-in-law, Janice (Gilbert) Owens and Ida (Raymond) Holland; six very special friends, Thomas Wilson, Sally and Dee Dee Artis, Eddie Thompson, Brady Thompson, and Donnie Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at E. M. Matthews Funeral Home.

A service of remembrance will be held Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Greenleaf Christian Church, 2110 N. William St., Goldsboro

Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Baldwin's delicate temple, along with his adored family, will be escorted to Baldwin Cemetery on Powell Road for interment rites.

Mr. Baldwin's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Baldwin and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
