DUDLEY -- Evangelist Emma Hamilton Reid, 71, 138 Southern Plaza, Dudley, departed the life Saturday at the Brian Center.

A triumphant homegoing service to celebrate her life and service, God and humanity, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greater Guiding Star United Holy Church, with the Rev. Joseph M. Williams officiating.

Her white custom-made full couch casket will be placed in a white ornate horse drawn hearse for her journey to Wayne Memorial Park

She leaves to cherish many years of precious memories to her husband Nathaniel "Bud" Reid; three sons, Nathaniel Reid Jr. and Gary Reid both of Dudley and Darryl Reid of Fayetteville; three daughters, Jacqueline (Eugene) Hightower of Goldsboro, Genia (Terry) Taylor of Dudley and Jeannie Williams of Goldsboro; two sisters, minister Annie Carter of Goldsboro and Aretha Davis of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, minister Simon (Sandra) Hamilton; four sisters-in-law, Mary, Minnie and Joyce Hamilton all of Goldsboro and Carolyn (Jerome) Wooten of Goldsboro; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church, with the family present to receive friends during an inspirational wake from 6 to 8 p.m.

The family will receive friends at other times at the residence, where they will also assemble in preparation for funeral procession.

In lieu of flowers, contributions maybe made to Greater Guiding Star United Holy Church in her memory.

Final arrangements are entrusted to the Haskins Funeral Home of Goldsboro.
