MOUNT OLIVE -- Margaret H. Harrell passed away Sunday night, Sept. 11, 2011, at Quinn Hospice Center in Kenansville.

Mrs. Harrell, daughter of the late James Rufus "Jim" Harrell Sr. and Metta McClenny Harrell, was the widow of Wilbur W. Harrell.

She had been a member of Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church for 59 years, where she had served as teacher and Sunday school secretary, and was a member of the Women's Ministries, serving one year as president.

For 18 years, she was employed as a sales clerk with Belk of Mount Olive.

A resident of the Thunder Swamp community, in recent years she had resided with a daughter near Kenansville.

She was a devoted mother of her children, and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons and their spouses, Barron and Ramona Harrell, the Rev. Vance and Sandra Harrell and Mark and Sheila Gray Harrell all of Mount Olive; two daughters, Alice H. Baumann of Kenansville and Sheila Marie Harrell of Mount Olive; and a sister, Sallie Daughtry of Clinton.

She was thankful and proud of her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and had lots of nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Thunder Swamp Church, with the Rev. J. Frederick Dixon and the Rev. Vance Harrell officiating.

Visitation with the family will be immediately after the service at the church; at other times, friends and family are welcome to 1339 Thunder Swamp Road, Mount Olive, Mrs. Harrell's former home.

The burial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Park.

Flowers are welcome or memorial gifts are suggested to be made to Thunder Swamp Church women's ministries, c/o Daisy Westbrook, 102 Foxcroft Lane, Mount Olive.
