LLOYD EDGAR BALLANCE

FREMONT -- Lloyd Edgar Ballance, 84, 631 Benton Pond Road, went to be with his Lord and savior Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. Burial will follow at Ballance Family Cemetery.

Mr. Ballance was born March 1, 1927, to the late James Howard Ballance and Betty Clyde Pittman Ballance.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and member of Pinkney Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Ballance; son, Lloyd Riley Hines II; daughters, Janelle Cooley and Lynda Chretien; grandchildren, Joyia Petrini and Brandon Trombley; great-grandchildren, Kennah Trombley and Kirstin Barker; sisters, Ruby Buck, Rena Faircloth and Myrtle Braswell; and a brother, Willard Ballance.

He was preceded in death by a son, Rex Ballance, and brothers, Melvin, Alvester, Odell and Elbert Ballance.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont, and other times at the residence.
