THOMAS HILTON BULLOCK

YORKTOWN, Va. -- Thomas Hilton Bullock, 51, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011, after a courageous, three-year battle with cancer.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. today, May 15, 2011, at the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson.

Hilton was a native of Wilson, and was a Peninsula resident for 30 years. He was an Eagle Scout and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He loved photography and the outdoors and enjoyed camping, sailing, scuba diving, snow skiing, and had a passion for the beach. He was employed as a submarine designer with Newport News Shipbuilding.

Hilton was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Sarah Bullock; and a nephew, James Kyle Bullock.

He is survived by his loving and beautiful wife, Rose O'Neal; a son, James Thomas Bullock of Seaford; stepdaughters, Holly Meacham and her husband, Taurean, of New Jersey, and Amanda O'Neal of the home. He is also survived by a brother, Jimmy Bullock and his wife, Margaret, of Princeton; and a niece, Megan Bullock Greene and her husband, Anthony, of Smithfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Colonial Virginia Council, 11721 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, VA 23606; or to the American Cancer Society, 11835 Canon Blvd. Suite A-102, Newport News, VA 23606.
